Villa Zelda, St. Paul de Vence

Sleeps 14

€10,000 - €13,750 per week

Villa Zelda is located on an exclusive gated Domaine with beautiful views down towards the coast and just two minutes’ drive from St. Paul de Vence, one of the oldest, hill-top, medieval towns on the French Riviera with galleries, restaurants, the famous Colombe d’Or Hotel and the Fondation Maeght.

The house is built of local stone and set in a beautiful, lavender filled garden. Despite its rustic appearance and stunning setting, this is a house of contrasts, immaculately decorated and finished with Christian Liagre furniture and African and Asian sculptures. For those who don’t (or can’t!) leave the technology behind, there is a newly completed TV room/Library with a 75” plasma TV, surround sound system, Sky, Apple TV, Netflix and other toys including a Wii console, DVD player and an iMac, iPad and printer.

The owners have this year installed a new contemporary-Provence kitchen which is equpped with three ovens (including a full size steam oven), a wine fridge, an American fridge, two extra large fridge drawers plus a professional ice making machine, two dishwashers, seating area for 6 people and three bar chairs for informal kitchen breakfasts or snacks.  In addition, the beautiful “Kasbah-style” double bedroom on the first floor is a new addition bringing the total number the villa sleeps up to fourteen comfortably.  There is also a new massage/spa pavilion built next to the yoga pavilion allowing for peaceful treatments with views over the garden and down to the coast.

Perfect for family, groups of friends or children, the accommodation is quite beautifully presented and very well arranged.   Nobody could ever complain of being bored in this house. Outside there is a wonderful pool house with gym area plus sauna, steam room and a yoga pavilion. Next to the boules pitch is a well-equipped snooker pavilion featuring a 7’ table with lights over and rattan chairs for those long evenings! An outdoor fire is a must for cooler evenings and there is even a children’s playground with swings. Beautifully lit terraces are perfect for al-fresco dining and a covered sun deck with a huge mattress overlooking the pool looks out across the valley to St. Paul and down towards the sea.

This is a house to cater for everyone’s tastes. However, if you can drag yourself away, all the attractions and lights of Cannes, Nice and Antibes are an easy thirty minute drive away.

What Sarah thinks:

“I was enchanted by this house. Beautiful views, a terraced, Provençal garden and sophisticated interior – a great mix. Clients very rarely only go for one holiday but return several times. It is also great out of high season.”

Client Reviews:

“Perfect Place for a Family holiday!
We are a group of 12 with grand-parents & teenagers! The Villa offers plenty of space indoor and outdoor for all different age groups. During our two week stay everybody found their favourite spot either around the pool, the gym, yoga pavilion. Boys enjoyed every bit of the garden – especially the climbing trail, the mini football ground or the snooker table. My husband relaxed while reading books in the shade in the upper part of the garden with stunning views over St Paul de Vence and the coastline. My parents developed a new passion: daily workout on the aqua-bikes in the pool. Knowing everybody is happy and enjoying a great holiday, I spoilt myself with daily in-house yoga sessions, massages and spa treatments – heaven!! We are so glad Villa Zelda was available for all of us to enjoy – we leave with great memories!”

“Very Zen!
Thanks to Sarah and her team I discovered this beautiful Villa in a gated private domaine a few years ago and became a regular guest. Villa Zelda is the ideal place for me to relax from my busy UK show-live. The moment I enter the property, I switch off and enjoy the peace of the villa, the terraced garden, the lavander and flower beds. Very tastefully decorated, with peaceful indoor and outdoor harmony, the villa offers well thought indoor and outdoor facilities. Every season an updated version of the house guide gives me wonderful new tips for dining, shopping, markets to find local Provence products or new places to discover in the region or by the sea. Luc, your Yoga teacher is amazing, will miss the workout in London. It is my stunning Côte d’Azur home away from home.”

“A place of serenity and peace
We spent 3 fantastic weeks in your beautiful home and would recommend it to anyone.
Super luxurious features with amazing hand-picked design. The view from the dinning terrace, garden or rooms is amazing. The amenities, gorgeous interior decoration and furniture make you feel at home. Your ‘Red Book’ with all concierge service tips is very useful. Luc, your Yoga teacher is amazing, will miss the workout in London. This place has it all. Only downside, we didn’t want to leave but will be back for sure.”
