Hidden away in the heart of the Vaucluse region of Provence above Crestet, an unspoiled Medieval hilltop village, Domaine de la Verriere is a private estate of 350 acres comprising a medieval priory and winery surrounded by its own working vineyard and lush private woodlands set in a nature reserve. Completely secluded in a mountain saddle, the house has panoramic views of rolling hills, olive groves, apricot orchards lavender and sunflower fields and also Mont Ventoux. Yet it is only fifteen minutes from the bustling Provencal market town of Vaison-la-Romaine.
Lovingly and sympathetically restored to the highest of standards, the rough hewn stone walls and vaulted rooms of the pavilions bear witness to its 9th Century origins as priory to the nearby Abbaye – it is said to have hosted Knights Templar. No expense has been spared to combine 9th Century charm with 21st Century comfort with luxurious rooms and state-of-the-art amenities. The medieval vaulted great hall, reception room and dining room are really fabulous.
Four suites and three double guestrooms accommodation up to eighteen including children. High standards of quality and comfort are maintained throughout the house with particular attention to privacy and soundproofing.
