Le Lapin d’Or, Courcheval le Praz (1300)

Sleeps 10

€9,000 - €19,000 per week

A very special, luxury chalet situated in the heart of Courcheval Le Praz which is part of Les Trois Vallées –  the largest linked ski area in the world.  Le Praz is an authentic French Alpine village filled with traditional wooden chalets and largely untouched by all the glitz and glamour that has come to Courcheval in recent years.   Situated at 1300 metres, it is easily accessible throughout the winter months but still has plenty of snow to keep even the keenest snowsports enthusiast satisfied.  There are plenty of extremely good restaurants and shops in the village and a number of good ski lifts including a new for 2019/20 season 10 person gondola which takes people from Le Praz direct to 1850 for the first time in less than six minutes.

The chalet is located 100 metres from the slopes and lifts facing the lake and Olympic Games ski jump.  It is traditionally built in stone and local wood but its charming and authentic exterior hides a very funky, modern and stylish interior with swimming pool, spa and cinema room.

The accommodation is spread over four spacious floors with five truly sumptuous and luxurious ensuite bedrooms sleeping a total of ten. Beautifully crafted and bespoke beds and furniture made from local old wood are styled and complemented with faux furs, gorgeous textured soft furnishings and contemporary ensuite bathrooms.

The living area provides a real “wow” factor with a large open plan sitting room, dining area, snug and kitchen providing plenty of space to entertain and socialise or just relax and indulge!  The triple aspect glass fireplace provides a focal point for the living areas and creates a cosiness to the large open plan design.  The sitting room area is double height with feature beams and ambient lighting plus a super-comfortable sofa and large TV.  On the other side of the fireplace is a great snug area with sofa, chess set, etc.

The kitchen area is beautifully equipped for everything you (or your chef) might need to rustle up supper each evening.  There is a breakfast bar, a large dining table with a fabulous modern coloured glass chandelier over and a further dining area just by the kitchen perfect for children’s high tea.

There are terraces and balconies off various sides of the living and dining areas for catching the evening sun or, for the non-skiers, sunbathing!

The chalet also features a wonderful swimming pool surrounded by white birch trees, twinkly lights and mirrors to create a serene and indulgent space for the adults and a fun and cool environment for the children.  There is a modern sculpture, stepping stones across the water and seating around.  A separate massage room is just what’s needed after a hard day on the slopes.  Here there is also a cinema room with large plush sofas and widescreen TV.

What more could one want for the perfect chalet…….?

What Sarah thinks:

“Home to an interior designer, this chalet has the slickness you would therefore expect.  Plenty of restaurants within a short walk so, with the new fast gondola to Courcheval 1850, you really have every box ticked for a great skiing holiday!”
